NACSA EDUCATES COMMUNITY PEACE AMBASSADORS ON SMALL ARMS RISKS AND COMMUNITY SAFETY

As part of efforts to strengthen community participation in preventing armed violence, the Commissionโ€™s Ashanti Regional Office engaged 120 Community Peace Ambassadors at the Presbyterian Guest House in Kumasi.

The engagement formed part of a Peace Ambassador training programme aimed at equipping community leaders with knowledge and skills to promote peace, safety, and security in their respective communities.

Led by Mr. Emmanuel Kenneth Oduro, Ag. Head of Ashanti Regional Office, the session focused on small arms risks, vigilance, responsible reporting and the role of community actors in responding to emerging security concerns.

The engagement reinforced the need for a whole-of-community approach to security, where peace ambassadors, hospitality operators, residents and security institutions each contribute to identifying risks, responsible reporting, preventing small arms-related violence and maintaining safe communities.
