From 29–30 January 2026, Ghana through the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons participated in the ATT Women’s Leadership Workshop at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), hosted by the Permanent Mission of Latvia in partnership with Control Arms.
The workshop brought together women leaders, policymakers, and practitioners to strengthen leadership capacities and advance gender-responsive approaches to arms control and disarmament. Sessions explored inclusive leadership, meaningful participation in multilateral processes, and the application of the ATT risk assessment and gender-based violence criteria under Articles 6 and 7.
Through the exchange of national experiences and best practices, participants strengthened global networks in support of more effective and inclusive ATT implementation.
Ghana was represented by Ms. Dorcas Hupkorti of the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons (NACSA). Ghana’s participation provided an opportunity to showcase national experiences, engage with counterparts from other States Parties, and strengthen international networks in support of effective, inclusive, and gender-responsive arms control efforts.
