The Ministry of the Interior has extended Ghana’s Gun Amnesty Programme (GAP) to 30 January 2026, offering a final two-week window for individuals to voluntarily surrender or register unlicensed firearms without fear of arrest or prosecution. The extension follows a positive public response to the initial amnesty period, which began on 1 December 2025.
