Accra, 24 February 2025 – The National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons has ushered in a new chapter of leadership as Mr. Samuel Williams Yeboah, the immediate past Executive Secretary officially handed over the affairs of the Commission to, Dr. Adam Adamu Alhassan Bonaa, as the Ag. Executive Secretary

During the handing-over meeting, Mr. Yeboah expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He commended their dedication to the Commission’s mission and encouraged them to extend the same commitment to his successor.

Receiving the official handing-over notes, Dr. Bonaa assured all present of his steadfast commitment to the goal, objective and advancement of the Commission. He emphasized his dedication to strengthening the  mandate, fostering greater collaboration, and ensuring the Commission remains at the forefront of arms control efforts in Ghana.

A key priority for Dr. Bonaa is the passage of the Arms Bill into law—a legislative effort he has been closely involved in drafting. He expressed his readiness to push for its passage, highlighting its significance in establishing institution’s a more robust legal framework for arms regulation and enhancing the Commission’s operational effectiveness.
