The National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons (NACSA) held a two-day orientation programme for newly recruited officers and National Service Personnel to familiarise them with the Commission’s mandate, core functions and ongoing operations.
The orientation formed part of NACSA’s commitment to building a knowledgeable and responsive team to support Ghana’s efforts in preventing and combating the illicit proliferation of firearms. Through a series of presentations and interactive sessions, the Officers and Service Personnel were introduced to the Commission’s mandate, strategic priorities and key programmes and activities.

Welcoming the participants, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Adam Bonaa encouraged them to put their best foot forward urging them to take a keen interest in understanding Ghana’s evolving security landscape and the role NACSA plays in promoting a peaceful, safe and gun-violence-free Ghana. He further emphasised the importance of professionalism, integrity and teamwork in advancing the Commission’s mandate.
The orientation concluded with discussions and reflections, equipping the newly recruited officers and the Service Personnel with a clearer understanding of their roles and how their contributions will support NACSA’s work in fostering a safer and more secure Ghana.
