As part of its ongoing efforts in the Ashanti region, Officers from the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Mr. Emmanuel Gyimah and Mr. Emmanuel Kenneth Oduro, recently engaged members of the Asawase community in the Ashanti Region.
The meeting took place at the Mosque of the Asawase Renault Mechanics shop, with active participation from community members, including youth peer groups. Various topics were covered during the session, including an introduction to NACSA, its mandate, objectives, and the importance of community vigilance in ensuring security.
Particular emphasis was placed on the urgency of reporting any suspicious activities related to weapon possession within the community. Additionally, discussions centered on the upcoming elections and the critical role of the community in safeguarding lives and property during this period.
Educational materials such as flyers and stickers were distributed to attendees, facilitating further discussion and engagement on the topic. Participants freely expressed their concerns and suggestions, creating a conducive environment for open dialogue.
