The West Africa Border SecurityWeek concludes today, 13th August 2026 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, bringing together key stakeholders to explore practical solutions for safer, smarter, and responsive borders.

Opening the first discussion, Rev. Carl Anyetei Sowah, Ag
Head of Communications, chaired the technical session on "The growing role of innovation, digital systems and smart technologies" with contributions from:
● Mr. Nelsco A. Wolo, Deputy Commissioner General for Administration, Liberia Immigration Service
● Dr. Moses Tiffa Baio Esq., Chief Immigration Officer, Sierra Leone Immigration Department
● Mr. Aleksejs Kornejevs, Business Development Director, X Infotech Kenya

The Commission's delegation also interracted with technology providers present including X Infotech, Regula, foster+freeman, SITA, and Somapa IT which offered them a closer look at emerging tech solutions for the future of border control.
